You know, I always thought writing a blog would be seen as self-important, self-indulgent, as a way of saying to the world, “here’s what I know/think/feel and you should know about it.” Kinda like those celebrities who seem to go through therapy in the public eye; I always thought therapy was supposed to be private so you can work on your issues. Unless your issue involves the millions of people who read People or the National Enquirer, surely we don’t all need to know about it. There’s something perverse about someone whining about their abandonment issues to a magazine where millions of people they will never meet will read about it and feel sorry for them.
So why write a blog? Well for one, twitter limits me (@georgeju) to 140 characters. It takes me that many to get the wheels spinning. More importantly though, it’s a way to start a conversation with friends, colleagues, and the just plain curioius people. It’s the same kind of things that I would talk about if you all were together in one place. My main focus and interest is definitely marketing/entrepreneurship, but it will also include things I find interesting, peculiar or annoying.
